BLUE RIBBON ASSEMBLY — Monday,November 10, 2008
Students, teachers, parents, and administrators of Lynbrook High School celebrated the school’s academic achievements with U.S. Department of Education official Tori Hatada, United States Congressman Mike Honda, San Jose City Councilmember/Neighborhood Services & Education Chair Judy Chirco, and San Jose City Councilmember Pete Constant's Chief of Staff Jim Cogan for being recognized as a 2008 No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School. Lynbrook and Monta Vista High Schools are two of only 32 schools in California to receive this honor in 2008. Lynbrook has been chosen as a Blue Ribbon School because students achieved in the top 10 percent on California tests. Board of Trustees President Nancy Newton, Board Members Homer Tong, Hung Wei and Bill Wilson, Superintendent Polly Bove, Academic Deputy Superintendent Kate Jamentz and Lynbrook High School Interim Principal Bill Richter joined in the celebration.
